Old Leather
The Mynarski Memorial Lancaster Bomber, now at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton, Ontario, was built over 70 years ago in 1945. The many years of service can be seen in the dimples and dents, patches and repairs. You can also see the love and care that it receives at the museum. I'm so lucky to live nearby and to see it fly every weekend in the summer. The photo is a detail of the tail fin. Bruised but sound, aged like finely crafted leather.
